i really can't see where there would be a difference. apparently, the actual part #'s for both are the exact same:

http://www.drivetrain.com/transmanua...it.html#NISSAN

scroll down to "Nissan Rear Wheel Drive" and u'll see. so unless someone knows different...?

beefier tranny? I'm told the stock tranny can handle 250hp to the wheels . . so unless you have more than that then there's no worries.

They are both the same seeing that they are both the same motor and tranny setup.

you can cryotreat the tranny.
it's pretty popular.

thanks element----

another ? what is the week link of our trannies? and where can i find more info

and if the 84-89 300zx non turbo tranny is the same ( at least same part numbers according to ^ )and i wonder if those can be changed out with the turbo trannies so that would actually bolt to the 240 (with probably minor alterations)

does that make sense or is it possible

hmm, i read it somewhere in super street or import tuner, but i can't remember.
i know they welded somewhere on the tranny case together due to weakness.
and also for their tranny, they did ball-peen shot, cryotreat, and polish i think...
