Well, I got the new shifter installed today. WOAH! Gates extremely tight (gonna have to get used to it), and VERY short shifts compared to the stock unit. Overall I'm pleased. It took me about 2 hrs to install, cause I had to get under the car to install the final two bolts (got them out from the top, but shifter base is thicker than stock unit, so had to go down on her lol).

With the install done, I beleive I confirmed one of my fears. 3rd gear synchros at high rpm shifting grinds a lil bit. I'm guessing 160k miles has just taken its toll on the trans. Figure I got another good 10-20k miles out of the car before a serious trans rebuild needs to take place.

i got mine in too. No pics though. I'm going to make a review in about 4 days or so. I love the shifts, and the weight is good, however, due to the way it mounts shifting takes a bit of muscle until you get used to it.

I also confirmed a fear: My second gear syncs are messed up, if i'm in 2nd, and i let of the gas i'll decelerate a bit and then the gears will push out into neutral... incredibly annoying, also grinds every now and then and i find myself having to double clutch. Not the shifter's fault though.

Where is your shift-boot man?

I've also found it does take some getting used to (its not sloppy at all compared to the stock unit, and its VERY tight where it goes it stays).

Honestly, It cut my shift in half easily. I went from a 10-11" shift, to at max 5-6" shift.

I don't have one. The one that was in the car was riced out (painted silver along with everything else that I've replaced). I still have the passenger power window cups to replace as its still riced. Everything else is factory again. So, I need a shift boot and the trim. Find me one

Which trim? There is an old FB in a junk yard about 30 min. away from here, i've been picking at it. I think i'm going to go and grab the passenger-side door. I can get you the shift boot, but which trim do you need? Take a pic for me.

I need that whole peice that is missing for a S14. Shift boot and the trim. If you can even find me just the plastic trim, that would r0x0r! I can get a boot off eBay, but don't want to pay the inflated 70 dollars for the plastic trim for the S14.

Ganked a pic off eBa of exactly what I need.

hmm .. i've only seen an s13 around here, however there are quite a few junkyards i haven't been too.

not to jack the thread, but i'm getting a junkyard list together.
Will S14 wheels fit on an s13? ... i'm going to search, but i'm asking first. :-)

Yea, I do get that. I rarely run the car up to 5k even when I'm driving hard, so it doesn't bother me.
