swapped r-33 gts skyline lsd in s13

swapped r-33 gts skyline lsd in s13 today. a buddy of mine and i swapped it in a couple hours. i used the r-33 axles and center chunk. they bolted up without modification other than swapping out the rear diff cover with the skylines. in other words put s13 diff cover on r-33 skyline lsd center chunk. i just thought i would post this to let poeple know it works no prob. obviously try it for yourself dont cry to me if it doesnt work.

no not yet the only thing left to do is make sure the driveshaft mates up to it. as in make sure its not to short or long. i thought the axles werent going to fit cause there a half inch shorter than stock s13 axles but i guess the center chunk was a little beafier cause it fit in pretty snug.

Anyone know if that works for the S14's as well? Also, how much did the Skyline diff and axles cost you?

I have the entire suspension from a R33 in my car. it fit and works great. You can also use just the axles and diff too, but bonus 5 lug and huge brakes are nice. Stock driveline bolted right up and works fine, and pulls great out of a corner, no one wheel wonder. The skyline shares the same diff and axles with the 300ZX, so it's just like the 300ZX lsd swap.

well i finally got the driveshaft put on. i used a silvia driveshaft, i had an automatic so i had to get one, might as well be a silvia. anyway i dont even know if there is a difference. either way it bolted up no prob. i also got all my turbo fittings, so ill be making some lines and installing it next week.

a few questions,

does the silvia driveshaft mate up with the R33's diff cuplink? or did you just replace the internals of the 240's diff...

Also wouldent it be easer to get a HICAS 240 Diff and transfer it like that? or was the 5lug/syspention the main driving point of the install.

it all bolts right up. all i did was take the stock diff cover off and put it on the skylines then bolted it all up. my main reason why i got it was because it was 70. i paid more for shipping than for the set up. i have the 5 lug rear setup with brakes for it but im not using it. ill prob. sell it.
