Thumping noise???

Question Thumping noise???

Ive been hearing a loud thump in the rear part of my 240sx when i shift, but when i shift at like 4000 rpm it dosent, but any lower than that it makes a thump like either the spare is hitting or something else, mostly in first to second gear. Please help!!

They may Not be balanced properly. You might have bad rims.

how would i check that? and what is making the thumping noise when i shift? its only in low rpms

I would suggest takin the tire off the rim and puttin it on a balancing machine.

All I know is that it's happened to me. The tire needed to be rebalanced. Car was smooth after rebalancing.

This is why I'm sayin this. I should've ask u is it a constant thump? like a constant pounding at a certain speed?

no its only when i shift, the jerking, not a constant thump, also when i release the gas a thump may happen. mostly with low rpms.

might just be a worn rear-end, it kinda sounds like a click and a thump. or the trans mount might be gone or motor mounts, most likely the trans though.

Cheifgmsr your whole bad tire/wheel would be correct if the noise was a constant.

vbgambini im sure its just your sub frame bushings go get the spacers and the problem will go away.

Try tanabe,kazama and others that make them.
