weird problems
hi, im new to the 240 scene. i just got a 1995 240sx se with auto tranny. the problems im having is that when im driving, the tranny tends to chug when its going to shift to the next gear. i tend to do it only when it goes from its 2nd to 3rd gear and rarely from the 3rd to 4th gear ( i think its a 4 speed automatic). i dont understand why it is, i have checked the tranny oil and it seems ok ( its a bit low, could that be a problems?). and also yesterday i floored it from stop to whatever it could but after the 2nd to 3rd shift it could go anymore. didnt matter how much i stepped it didnt go anymore and slowed down till it litterally cut of. it hasnt done that since and i have floored ita few time. i baffled , i hope you can help. thanks in advance

sorry if i didnt make sense. well after drivng today and asking some people around. i noticed that it would be the fuel. so here is my question, would putting low quality fuel ( ie 87) make the car jerk while driving? would i need to change the spark plugs and fuel filter? i today noticed that it didnt just jerk when the car automatically shifted but also when it was just accelerating alittle.
and another question, what fuel would be the best to put in it? and if additives such as acetone and butanol help burn richer?

dude, did you finish middle school? your grammar is horrible! but anyway to answer part of your question, your car was made for regular unleaded (87 grade). It should run fine on that gas. As for the jerkiness, it could be the torque converter... but I don't know for sure cuz I've never wrenched on an auto...

well, fyi im not in middle school, im 20 at UTA. and yes i know my grammer isnt the greatest at times. but anyways i got an update to my problem, took it to autozone and got a diagnostic test on it. it came up that i have 4 problems, PO100 ( MAF airflow sensor), PO130 ( O2 sensor), PO325 ( knock sensor), and the worst one and the cause of my problem, PO732 (Gear 2 ratio incorrect). so if anything yall people might know about these problems please help.

^ yes, it's an autmatic tranny. It's not really hard, but it's not really easy either. If you know what you're doing it's easy. I know that sounds redundant but WTH you asked.
As for the other stuff, it's always good to do a tuneup when you buy a used car.
You might want to replace the tranny fluid and see if the jerkiness eases up a tad.. but judging from the last diagnostic code you got, that tranny is slowly on it's way out. Sorry.
