From reading the swap legality thread... swapping an sr20, rb__ and other japanese engines are illegal by federal law. which rules that out, if you want to keep your car...

So, what swaps are actually legal in the US? VG's, G35 motors, anything? or would it be better to build/rebuild the KA and make hp that way? Also, i read that the only legal turbo kit for the KA is the GReddy kit, true?

V-8 should be legal if done right and all of the smog equipement is intact. Greddy is PENDING carb approval so it might not be legal for long. Plus if you add an intercooler, BOV, or mess with anything it automatically isnt legal anymore Stupid laws. I want to do either ls1 or vg (non turbo) this summer. Probably the latter due to the lack of funds
