VG's are a really wide engines. VQ's are very narrow and sit in the engine bay better than the VG does. VQ is an aluminum cast block, VG's are cast iron and not efficient on a performance standard.

That is the worst VQ swap I've ever seen. Do you see how raised it is to the hood of the car???? VQswap.com is the worst place for info, there swaps aren't legal. They use the mechanical throttle body, and you still have to tune the standalone to make power. WEAK SAUCE

So is the LSx, and it is a much more versatile engine.
LET IT BEGIN! MUAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I apologize. Do not entertain me.

You mean a Honda swap??? We don't talk about that non sense here.J/K The LSx engine (prototype) runs to high of a compression ratio you won't be seeing a lot of boost out of it beyond 10PSI. Hondas arent legal either.
Or do you mean a chevy/pontiac LSx thats not legal in JDM vehicles. LSx in GtO's are awesome but isn't it a heavy engine?

the LSx series of engines i believe is lighter than a KA. pretty sure its a weight reduction in a s-chassis.

I was talking about the General Motors swap Vinnie, cmon man they're all the rage. It's a 350+hp torque monster N/A V8 that is over 100 pounds lighter than the KA. I figured a NA guy like you would be drooling over it. And it is EPA approved, gets 30mpg, and to my knowledge can be put in any 240sx legally. But that isnt what the OP asked. We need to learn to stay on topic.

man..... i just ........... hmmmmmmmm yea...... more power to the person who does this swap.. but my thing is we have way to many nissan power adders....... just like the whole Rb26 into the mustang thing... i find myself having to explain to the uneducated domestic guy the powers of the Rb26 etc but even me being a skyline freak, I cringed at the idea.. they are no more then " I told you so swaps" and to me personally you are sorta painting yourself into a corner when/if problems arise from racing the motor.

now to the OP

the cost doesn't not outway the benefits brother.. but do what you must, we will love you still

Well sheesh, why don't we just throw a Toyota Tundra engine in it.

That engine looks retarded in there. I can't put my finger on it, it just doesnt look right. And not worth the money.
Yeah, tell him that. He'll promptly blow your 240's doors off

It's because of the goofy plastic cover. Show me the heads and all that wiring, I say!

Well sheesh, why don't we just throw a Toyota Tundra engine in it.
I'm told that some people swap in one of those for 350z's!

I test drove one of those badboys earlier this week. The Tundra has a wicked set of *****. It's deffinantly one of the fastest things I've ever driven... and it's a 2 ton; can you imagine what a stock 5.7 481 whp engine would be going in a 350Z

You, my friend, need to stop pulling figures out of your ***. Taken right from Toyota's website, the 2007 V8 Tundra has 381 hp., NOT 481. The LSx series is still vastly better.

*EDIT* I'm sorry, before I call you an *** I should ask you if that was a typo. I just realized you might have accidentally hit the 4 instead of 3.

What most people don't realize is that the RB engines are designed and manufactured by Chevrolet of Australia other wise known as Holden motor CO.
So if you want a chevy/holden block get an RB. I'm not into the the Americanizing JDM thing it takes away from integrity and culture. People never take the time to do research, Nissan sub contracts most if not all of there engines to motor manufacturers. Being that Renault owns 52% of nissan now we will be seeing a lot more renault power engines.

It would only be legal if it was running on all Chevrolet stock OEM equipment ecu, harness and all. This means a swap like that will cost you bread roughly $10,000, it ain't going to happen. VQ is as cheap as it gets for under $7000.
I've done enough N/A research to just know whats logical on the pocket book.

It was, if it was 481 I'd nearly be scared to drive it... nearly.
