89-90 vs 91-93 swaps

I've heard that its harder to swap an SR20DET into an 89-90 chassis because the SOHC setup.... I'm wondering if that is true and if the same holds true if you were to go with an RB into a 89-90... Just need some clarifacation on the subject.. thanks

It isnt necessarily harder..but you have to mod the p/s lines to fit the SR or RB PS. Here is a site http://sr20.hybrids.jp/installations...wap/index.html

it is a manual chassis... i was looking at those sites... seems like all you have to do is relocate the power steering resevoir and lines... that is for the SR anyway... I'm wondering if you still need to deal with all that if you're going RB...?

www.LSAuto.com sells a power steering conversion kit to go from SOHC to SR20... 350 i think...

I'm actually only really interested in if the RB needs the same power steering changeover..

thanks guys

For the RB20, all you need to do is the PS mod and put in the R32 cross-member. You will have a little rubbing issue with the sway bar and maybe turbo elbow, but that can easily be solved by shaving a LITTLE off of them.
