You should also mention time and difficulty of each swap to its counterpart US 240 chassis'.. How about throwing an s15 sr20det into an 89-90 s13??

I have a question, I see everyone talking about swapping their KA engines for a SR20 or an RB25/26. I've been looking and I haven't found (yet) a source thats states that a SR20DET is better than a KA24 DET. I bought a KA24DE on ebay, pretty clean right now, and I'm rebuilding it with a greddy turbo. I've seen the mods needed to make it into a TT but I myself don't really want it. So can anyone point me in the right direction for the stats of a KA24DET vs a SR20 DET?

Man that issue has been argued plenty. Besides I dont think ka24det belongs in a thread about sr20det info.

shouldn't intercooler and exhaust be in the "optional" section? I mean, say you wanna do a bare sr20det swap, keeping everything on the sr stock... when you listed intercooler, did you mean in general (i.e. stock sidemount)? I know that if you get a full front clip, usually there's a sidemount on it that can be used... unless you were talking motorset only.

As for exhaust, I know it will kill power having a n/a sized exhaust, but is that absolutely necessary at the time of the engine swap, or can it be held off until later when you have time to save up a little more $$?

Finally, everyone seems to state that a BOV is needed when swapping... so what about stock config from the factory? There's no method they used to relieve excess pressure?

A 2.5" exhaust will be ok on a stock SR, but when you start to bump up the boost you should look into 3" or 3.5" for the best gains

does anybody know what maf sensors i can use for this swap? (besides one off of a twin turbo 300zx) i cant use the regular maf off of a 89-91 240sx or stanza or 2.5L truck because i received a HKS GT2530 turbo with the motor instead of the original stock sr turbo. thanks...
