More updates, mostly cleaning, sanding, and getting ready to drill the holes.

I think it's going to be a real clean white, so I am doing the bay white first, then swap the drivetrain, and worry about the exterior later.

Next week is the real work, final measure/fitting/drilling.

As most people know, the RB turbos are made of ceramic turbine wheels that are epoxied on the shaft.

Well, after 18 years of 100,000+rpm operation the wheels tend to fly off.

So without changing manifolds and wastegates, and fuel injectors, etc, here's the setup I will be using.

The EVOIII 16G Turbo is a killer 2.0 liter turbo that:

-Spools fully (20psi) by 3000rpm on a 2.0

-Will pull to 7500-8000 rpm on the right setup

-Is cheap as hell! ($560 brand new)

-Internally gated (No external setup required)

-Kicks a T3 Super 60's ***!

-Will be perfect on the RB20DET

A FMIC will be added, as well as a new Walbro 255lph, and an Aeromotive AFPR.

But that's about it...
I'm curious...how much PSI will that motor take? This would be an awesome swap to do on my S15!

PSi is relative. What you are really looking for is cylinder pressure. This is caused by three things:

-Static Compression ratio of the engine (I.E. 8.5:1, 9.0:1, etc)
-Total timing at WOT used (This is determined by the fuel you are using)
-Boost pressure

Pick two out of three is a good rule of thumb for US pump fuel.

But typically, with this engine on 91 octane US fuel, around 20-25 psi with conservative timing (16-18 degrees).

At this boost level, the EVOIII 16g can make around 340-370 hp to the wheels.

This turbo can also produce 30-32psi with the right setup.
