I bought what i thought was a redtop front clip but i am pretty sure that it is a blacktop. The valve cover was painted when i bought it and when i chipped some of the paint off of it it is black underneath my question is will a redtop ecu work on a blacktop motor cause my fuel pump has no power and it wont start.

 

I had a blacktop in my car (ECU says J4) and i tried using a redtop ECU (#62) and it sounded like it was running on one cylinder.... the only way to really find out is to try one out
