yeah I think it is nice to have a turbo timer, but you could live without one. Although if you don't drive your car hard you don't need to use one do you? I don't think so I'm just double checking.

the point of a turbo timer is to not only let the turbo cool down and engine cool down, but to make sure really hott oil doesent get crusted to your turbo after you shut the car off.

you def dont need one, but its kinda like playing the safe side with one. i mean, i would take a afc over a timer anyday, but whatever.

yeah but they are pretty cheap so why not buy one? I see your point, and i think I would rather play it on the safe side... i dont have money to be replacing things left and right.

Oh I have another question. Is upgrading to a Ball Bearing s15 t28 turbo worth the $800 ? is there a better turbo that fits the CA perfectly?

manifold has to be modified to fit the turbo.

and like i said running the car off boost down the highway for 5 miles will do a whole lot more because there is air passing through your system.

turbo timers are worthless unless you dont thave enough control to drive off boost for a little

No.

A boost controller allows you to control how many bars you a running( 1 bar=14.x psi).

Lets say for example, you want to un 9 psi consistantly, you would use your boost controller to turn up or down your psi's.

it will not, however, allow your turbo to cool down quicker.

running off boost is easier for some people to say then others.
alot of times, boost can kick in at 3000rpms, if seen other people whos boost wont kick in till 4500rpms.

on a ca motor running the stock t25, i beelive its about 3000rpm, but i might be wrong.

So , you just shift before boost and drive around for like 15min. to cool of your turbo? Could you use a boost controller to turn off your boost or would that just be dumb... yeah never mind writing that out just made me feel dumb. Basically don't boost for the last 15min. of driving and you will be fine?

or just dont beat on your car and hop out of it and turn it off right away. or spend the amazing $60-$70 on a cheaper turbo timer. You dont need the best, all it is is an ignition bypass hooked up to a timer. They all do they same thing, and if you care about having one to help your car, it doesnt matter if it has lots of bells and whistles. You dont really need one though, stock cars have no turbo timer, I have seen manuals that advise against hard driving right before you are about to turn the car off.
It seems like everyone is over thinking it, if you dont want to have to worry about your car being hot and damaging itself, get one, if you dont think youwill beat on it bad enough, skip it, get some bills paid, or some routine car care done.
