Curious about SR20 inspection

whats up
Im very to new to this 240sx sr20 thing. I'm about to pickup a 240 and do an sr20 s14 swap in it. My one problem is I here that anything newer than a 95 240 it would be impossible to have it pass inspection after the swap because its inspected by hooking it up to a computer rather than a dyno style inspection. Is this true, if so, any ways around it?
Thanks

there are ways around it but you'll have to use your imagination and think about it. this is one of those grey areas that shold not be discussed on forums or the net.

KA is fine.

Dont buy SR until your skill maxes out the KA.

dude, you live in NY. There's a TON of places where you can get an "inspection" sticker. If nothing else, go find someone who's done the swap, does the swap, and see how they get by.

Stick w. the KA.

Fix your suspension.

Then you can decide either go for SR or KA-T.

..or NA monster.

There is no way to get past the inspection. Buy a 95 or odler 240SX or just forget it. I am a licensed Inspector in NY State (Lic # 4MS2)and I can tell you, from my experience & my conversations with the Motor Vehicle Department that even if you use someone elses car to pass with your inspection you will get caught. Everytime the NYVIP computer checks an OBD2 car it logs the VIN on the ECU vs the VIN on the car and if they dont match, a report is issued to your local inspection supervisor who MUST investigate & report on each discrepency.

This new inspection system is practically foolproof.
