Diagnostic software?

Well I am finally getting rid of my VW and getting another 240. I plan on dropping in an RB20 when the time is right, but had not noticed anyone; even in searching, mention anything about diagnostic software. VW's have a brand of software called VagCom that basically does the same thing the dealer computer does. It connects your computer and the ECU via a cable through the diagnostic port; go figure. Anyway, the software is great, you can run systems checks, clear fault codes, and make adjustments. Is there a company that makes any such thing for Nissan?

First off, why should I go to yahoo or google when I have the resources and people of this forum; who would know better than 240 owners? Second, your post came up on the search I did several times. It seems that both then, and now, you are just plugging yourself in the hopes of getting someone to pay you to build their ECU for them. Third, in your post you never mention anything about diagnostic software, just software that will allow the user to access the ECU via the diagnostic port. Does your build allow the user to diagnose check engine lights, remove fault codes, or help solve any problems?

you crack me up with that *hopes* sh*t... I CAN DO ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO wiring, electrions, computers, programming, networking ,, I have even built robots, i have wrote and built my own software several times for a home computer. I HAVE DONE IT ALL....expect for a car's computer the ECU.. and I don't need that *hope* sh*T because I know I can and will be able to do it!!

only reason why I haven't touched done any tuning work on my ecu is because I gotta have the car running first before I go and fool around my ecu!! yeah sooo once I do mine and get it right I'll be sure to prove it to your *hope sh*t ****, and then i'll go and do it for a living in my own shop that I'll open up for ECU tuning only which you wont be because your dumb!

Who would know better than 240 owners? www.google.com would! Check out this site fo sho.. I am a 240 owner and know nothing about ecu tuning. People that tune ECUs would also know about the software.

I don't know anything about ECU tuning either, but I do know that those that do will hang out in the forums associated with the various models. I checked out yahoo and google but wanted to get some fellow 240 owners opinions. I found a few things of interest and will have to follow up on them.
As far as SHIFT_Sideways, if you go back and read my post you will see that I used the term "hopes" in that you hope to get someone to pay you to do the ECU tune, not that you hope to be able to do it. I don't know you so I have no reason to question your ability, I merely stated that your post did not mention diagnostic software but retuning instead. I didn't mean to get you so bent out of shape; next time I will try to be more sensitive.

I'm not going to flame you, or anything, but at the same time, you're asking for help, yet when someone is offering a suggestion, it seems as if you're throwing it back in their faces like it's not good enough. I could see why Shift would react that way. A simple "thanks, but it didn't exactly answer my question" would have been sufficent.

Definitely google or yahoo would help you...this site DOES cover a lot, but maybe not everything...theres a lot of information that can't be found in a single place, you know? Good luck in the future with your car and all, lets all just keep the fighting to a minimum...and get back to whats really important.

...And sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, I pay to get my car tuned and/or diagnosed.

This is the best I have come up with yet. Its a bit pricy but looks like what I am looking for. http://300zx-twinturbo.com/conzult/ Ironically Ross-Tech, the makers of VagCom, which I used on my VW, are the South American dealers of the conzult line. Go figure.
