drop in? or drop onto?

drop in? or drop onto?

Do most of you that have done swaps put the motor into the car through the hood? or lower the car onto the motor?

Im trying to do mine by droppin the engine in the car..but its kinda hard when the engine is so god damn long.

yeah i put my sr20 into the chassis with transmition and downpipe
little problems

I dropped the RB25DET in through the top, if I did it again, I would go from the bottom with the trans already bolted up. Much easier. RB is a ***** from the top.

did u use the tilt on ur engine lift or just dropped it?

I actually hung a chain from s roof beam, no engine hoist here....

Tilt the back down and the front up. Rock it a little so the clutch gets past the lip on the firewall, and let that part get down past it. Then push it back as far as you can to clear the crank pulley from the core support. Thats how I did mine both times and thats how I did the other swap I did.

Hyjynx, you and I talked about this before and I told you it would be easier to assemble the trans & motor and THEN install it into the car from the bottom. I have another swap coming up, RB25DET into an S14 and I will try it that way and tell you how it goes.

I didn't really have any trouble lowering it into the car, just gotta make sure you are as close to the firewall as possible.

We dropped mine in tranny and all. Slid right in. No problems whatsoever......

well ill get back to u guys tomorrow bout how it goes. me and my friend did a lil test fit and it didnt fit right, but then again the chain was in the way and we couldnt fit it in properly at all.
