dropped my car off for a CA

Hey I dropped my car off at CCP for my CA18DET swap it's costing me under $3000 for the swap, and 5 speed conversion.

Question since i got the motor out, is it worth putting on a new turbo manifold and down pipe and mid pipe? what kinda HP gain will i be looking at. This is straining my pockets as is. I wasn't planing a swap till next season, but my motor blew. I belive in doing things right the first time and waiting if you cant but i got rushed to do the swap premature. IS it worth the extra strech on the cash flow. Segificant HP gains??

Honestly, I would get the engine in and running before messing with mods. If you change things and then the motor won't start on install, you have more things to trouble shoot.

The gains from manifolds seem pretty good on the SR's (and I assume similar on the CA) but depending on the one you get some people have reported some issued with cracking, leaking welds, etc.

I would say the gains from a tubular manifold would be less than those from a boost controller.... and most of the benefits of the manifold would not be as pronounced at stock boost levels.

the stock CA turbo is far to small period to see any real gains you need to ditch it first and foremost.. hit me up on aim if ya wanna know more
