engine swap

okay, well i am probly going to get a 240 so i want to know, for reliablity parts availanilty, and cost which would be the most bennifical swap, and easiest to do.

i would like to get around 400whp on stock internals, and i would like to turbo it. 300whp is fine though to.
i was thinking about the stock ka engine but is that feesable for a 16 yr old, right now im making around 1g a month, and thorugh school also. or would i be better off getting a sr20? and about how much would that cost? ballpark, and reliabilty also, and how hard it is for parts.

and i would like to stay away from the rbs but if there is a valid reason i guess i would think about it, i searched google but i only got engine specs, not parts availabilty, and what is most likely about to go first.

thanks for your time.

Ah man, you're still young. Stay away from this money pit called cars. If you still intend on doing all that, your money would be better well spent on track experience rather than 400whp on your first car(assuming since you're 16). Little driving experience doesn't go well with high horsepower it seems.

Agreed in a big way. Do you have any idea how unbelievably fast 400 hp in a 240sx is? Go bolt-ons and call it a day.

i agree 100% power to weight ratio ya a 2007 charger might have 400hp but its heavy and a 280hp 240 can beat it at the track.

imo i think its important to gain power in small steps so you get used to it at first going from a 100-130whp 240sx to 400whp is more then anyone in that situation can comprehend

please be careful man we dont want you or your car to get hurt so its important that you learn your car first
gl with your 240 and be safe

Yeah, you're gonna want to know your car like (sorry for the cliche) the back of your hand before you get that much power. Just go up in steps.

haha thanks.

i dont have one yet, but i am getting one within a month or so...
it wont be stock to 400whp like that, i would give it a few years, i just want to know a engine that would benifit me the most in the long run, becuase i will be swapping for sure.

but i might end up getting a probe gt for a daily, and later a 240sx, im not sure yet.

Why swap, the KA24DE can make 400whp with some work, but pretty much whatever you shove in there is going to take money and work to get to 400hp.

Keep the KA24DE, when you're ready, rebuild it . . .turbocharge or supercharge it, badabing, you're in the mid to high 200s . . .ask Biggamehit, he's close to 400hp if not OVER 400hp and he's working a KA24DE . . .

But then again . . .I'm his driving instructor so he knows how to handle it all, LOL!

I'm pretty sure that there are threads about it scampered about the Club 240 forums and NICO and other places that would have information in regards to that . . .however. . . . just because something doesn't seem readily available, doesn't mean it's an obscure objective.

DJ is not a rich man, I know this because I have to listen to his B!TCHING every time he spends a large amount of money or his GLOATING every time he finds a good deal. LOL!

But when you can buy an engine and transmission for 400 bucks, rebuild it for under 1000 and turbo it for under 800, that's butter to me . . .HAHA! But, I'm not a tuner, I'm a driver, I don't get too deep into modifications and tuning. DJ definitely knows everything about everything when it comes to cars, and he's got the skill to back up his knowledge.

He's the one you wanna bug . . .but I would wait for him to post here before bothering him . . . he's a rather large brother, and I know from experience that you don't want to anger him, LOL!

You smell that . . . .I smell it . . .can you all smell that . . . .

It smells like excellence . . . .

Biggamehit pisses excellence in the morning!
