3 to 5k? are you on something? maybe 3-5 k for the engine and install, but not that much for the engine...

if you gonna answer his question do into detail, maybe 3-5k for an s14 motor but i would never pay that for an s13 redtop

HAHAHAA look to spend 7k to 8k. You need the engine and a tranny swap.

Don't worry I am not trying to be an ***. You have to save quiet a deal to get the swap done right.

The sr20det is most commonly sold as 3 dif types each coming from its respective silvia/180sx. The s13, s14, and the s15. Personally I would recommend getting the s13 redtop, it is the cheapest to get stock (~$2400 for a clip) and is most commonly used for the high power applications 'cuz of the high port injection. Just some useful info:

sr - engine model name
20 - 2.0L
d - dual overhead cam
e - electronic controlled injection
t - turbo

The s13 is the weakest (in terms of power) stock at 206hp, but can easily be bumped up with a boost controller.

If you can do all the work urself, its a great deal. Luckily, this swap is getting more and more popular which means your shops dont see it as much of an oddity anymore. At one of the most expensive shops here in Dallas, Tx (Jotech) I was quoted $4400 for complete swap. I dunno where StanBo got 7-8k.

An even more popular option for the 240 is just keeping ur ka24(d)e and turboing it. This makes for a great drifting car as the off the line torque is higher than that of your average sr20. Again, I personally like the sr20 more, but that opinion varies wide and far. I'm also more of a fan of aluminum blocks...

Feel free to IM me at HEPC4T if you have any questions.

$3k-$5k is the price for a front clip from a reputable company. Ofcourse the price will change depepnding on the engine and extras. For example $3k for a shipped S13 clip, $5k for an S14 or for an installed S13. None of that e bay crap. SilvaPwr there are alot of things you need other than just the engine if you knew what you were talking about you'd realize this.

AzzySK, for more info on sr's go to heavythrottle.com or unstable-hybrids.com

I'm not sure about other companies, but I know Heavy Throttle says that everything you need to run will be included in the front clip UNLESS mentioned otherwise. Usually the parts mentioned are minimal in cost...

Shop called SKR performance. They charge you 5600 for three days of work. Drop the car in and drive it home after the work is done.

The price includes custom fit front mount intercooler. It is made to fit your stock bumper.

Larger downpipe. Boost gauge. The parts come from a full front clip.

I added the $1500 charge for the auto to manual swap on top of that.

Does that add up?

Yeah that adds up...

You had the manual tranny and gave it to them to put it in, right? I dont see how they could justify charging that much for a tranny swap...

I was setting up a quote for AzzySK. He said that he drives an automatic car.

Another thing. He is listed as owning a 1989 240sx. That is the SOHC so there are some other mods that have to be done as well. There are line that have to be modded.
