gm swaps
gm swaps
im currently ditching my gas guzzler 1980 camaro strip car for something smaller. i want to swap a pontiac gtp engine (3.8 supercharged) witha 5spd from a camaro into a 240. i already know about the motor and yes the 6 bolt mail l67 block will accept a rwd setup and i know about the supercharger facing the wrong way. what i need to know is how you wired pcm and gauges to work in the nissan with the gm stuff. my 98 gtp i had just a few small boltons for a good low 13 in the 1/4 so im thinking in the 240 i should be able to drop a second or more but still have great milage for crusing.
not saying its a horrible idea or anything just in my opinion it seems like you would be spending too much money for such a meager goal. there are many more options that can get you the same or better results for less money but i cant tell you what to do with your money just giving you my opinion.
Well swaps are to be unique too. Plus the older 3.8 (grand national) were stout motors. Now I know nothing about them really, but I'm pretty sure the block design is the same. Upgrade would be to a roller cam, and usuing the steel crank, or a forged rather then stock. But if the oil pan clears the x member and its what you want go for it.
