GOD I can't decide sr or rb

ok so i am still thinking big time and now i can get an RB20det front clip for 1200

O_O omg

i know this includes everything it's a front clip

but i am worried about the whole parts issue.

Somebody PLEASE be a guiding light.

I know i can ask night, i just don't want to get stuck with the engine and can't use it or can't "afford" to use it. I have to pick a path and stick with it you know?

Plus will it be easier to get an sr to pass emissions over a RB?
aw man so many questions.

Help!

well one thing the RB block is stronger then the SR block. And i think RB parts are a bit more expensive and a lil harder to find then SR parts. Ima get myself a RB25 frotn clip in bout a month or so, cant wait

I am planning to get a RB25DET too in 2 months, and the main issue is getting someone to swap that engine in. It will take quite a bit of effort to put that engine in. It will definitely cost more than a SR swap installation wise, but I think the end result will be worth it.

the cost for the RB installition is a bit more then the SR since its The RB is rare. But it isnt that much more difficult, u will need a few more parts then doin the SR swaps. All in all, its well worth the money and time!

X-member r32 or r333 (which is better to use?)
possible hood clearance issues
electric fans

Damicci - double check to see if the person you are getting the engine/clip from has a driveshaft for that engine model. For example I was emailing Cameron from night7racing and he informed me that he sells S13 driveshafts for the RB25DET. Perhaps he might be of some assistance. He is on this forum under Night.

You should ask yourself what you want the car to do in the end. Is it going to be a drag car/street car, or do you plan on drift/grip driving with it? Remember the RB motor will be great for drag racing and beatin' somebody on the street, but if you are lookin for handling, I would go with the SR. Just remember to think about how the motor you choose will effect the car as a whole.

the RB20 has a weak torque output. small cylinders = low torque

Hey damicci, I was told by a very good source that you can use the stock driveshaft with the rb20det. Thats just what I was told.

well personally i would always go for the stronger engine....you would be able to bend corners just as well with the RB as with an SR......

i could tell you the truth be most people wouldnt believe me anyway...besides. this topic has been discussed a few times over here and there.

if you live near me i'll do the swap for $1000 even

just bring your stuff on over and roll out with an RB240

rude,
where are you located? i'm looking for someone to do a rb25 into my '90 240, the only thing is i want the AWD intact. if that is possible or you know anyone on the east coast who does those sort of swaps (around PA or NY), hit me up with some details if possible. thanks

RB25 isn't AWD the RB26 is... Good luck finding the money and a shop to swap parts from a RB25 and 26 together to have a working RB25 awd.
