got lucky

Well I finally got back home from school and went in to see if my 240 which was getting a sr20det BT swap was completed and ready for me to take it home and I got some bad news but also some very good news. Well the bad news was that I have to wait about another day or two for my test pipe to come in before I can take the car home. However, the good news is that the guys at the shop told me that they didn't realize untill they're were almost completed with the swap and things weren't fitting up almost exactly to the turbo, but I had actually gotten lucky and gotten a s15 T28 turbo that came with my motor. They even took the car out for a little test drive running straight downpipe and described it as being quick as hell with what little mods are done.

Oh well just wanted to see if anyone else has ever heard of these things happening before? They also showed me another sr20 they had gotten in that came with a top mount manifold. I guess every now and then people get lucky. Haha luckily I got lucky!

Yea I got lucky with the t28, however unlucky with the amount of time it is taking for this thing to get done. Between back ordered parts and having to make changes to now the car having a "bump" in the idle so I most likely won't be getting it once again. I was down at the shop today and actually got to ride in it, but didn't really get to feel the power because it was detonating as soon as it got under boost, so this very intelligent mechanic they have working on it said he will not let the car leave the shop unless it is running perfect. Said it will most definetly be done with in the next day or two.

The shop is called Zerolift, they're relatively new and they're located about 15 minutes from my house which is in Cincinnati right but I'm up by the Kings Island theme park.

I know most good shops test drive the cars when they do swaps, but do they offer any kind of insurance on the cars when one of their techs takes it out and runs it?

my freak luck, shop guy would take it out and it'd get completely totalled, or the engine would get toasted. lol.

thats awesome you guys got the crazy parts with your engines. I'm ordering a full clip when I get mine, so hopefully I can pick up some extra parts though a completely stock setup usually means it hasnt been run to hell and back...

and post some pics when you get it back!
