i am about to finish installing my rb20 in my SOHC s13 and the down pipe is rubbing up agienst the steering column. how can i fix this. and my tach dosent work. where does the tach signal come from and where does it plug at. how can i check and fix it. i am using the ka cluster and it has the digital speedo. also i replace the RB speed sensor with the ka i needed to replace the sensor and the plastic gear that they go in right?

 

all you need to do is just swap out the speed sensors.....the tach won't work though....the ka one uses a one for a 4 cylinder and the rb uses one for a 6...you will have to get a skyline tach....i know a guy who did this and he had to modify his tach to work though.....as the downpipe....you will have to put a notch in it for it to clear or make a custom downpipe....

 

thanks, can i just use an aftermarket tach for it? if so how do i go about hooking it up as i have never done this before.

 

yea, just use an aftermarket tach, cheapest way to make it work... not hard to hook up, just read the instructions

 

ok, i am buying a tach today. I let the motor run for a little while and my stock temp gauge dosent work anymore. is there anyway to get it to work with the RB or do i have to buy an aftermarket temp guage also? thanks for the help so far. And does anyone know the stock temp for the motor? i wanna try and hit it with a laser temp guage and see if i need another fan or not. I swapped the speed sensors, was i supposed to use the gear from the Rb speed sensor or the KA speed sensor?
