how can you test an ignitor chip??
UPDATE!!! ok, wait scratch that.... i got the car runnin. it was a fuse in the engine fuse box that had shorted out. i'm not quite sure what the fuse went to because my box doesn't have a diagram on it. it was a 7.5 brown fuse though. i'm sure it had something to do with the fuel though. but it was running really, really, really rich though. i stalled out and now it won't start agian. i think the engine might have flooded out so i'm goin to let it sit for a while and then try starting it again and see what happens.
ok, i checked the crank angle sensor and its allighned just the way its suposed to be with the crank. the fuel pump is making a sound when i turn the key so i'm sure its working. the injectors are clicking when i try to start it. it seems to me like everything's workin ok. is there anything else i should check??
so is your car starting everytime now since you changed the fuse? because i'm having a similar problem too. i have to crank my motor for like 10 to 15 minutes on a cold start, but after initial start it runs w/ out a problem. so i'm thinking we have almost the same problem. just wondering if it was the fuse that was causing it for you.
i actually went ahead and ordered a new ecu for my car. i'm hoping that will do the trick since everything else seems to be fine. but just in case it doesn't i was trying to see what else it could be. The ignitor chip is questionable too.
well i installed the power fc. when i first installed it however, i did notice the car started to "vroom" while i was cranking it. the "vrooms" where very close together at one point alsomst to the point where it was goin to start up. but after a while the "vrooms" stopped and know it just cranks and cranks and cranks with no "vrooms" in between and definatly no start up. i also noticed that everytime i try and start it i smell fuel. but i checked for leaks and didn't find any. is there anything else i can do to se what the problems is?
Ok, Power FC will show you all the sensor's inputs if you have the commander.

Buy one of these and see if you are getting spark at all. If you are getting spark then your problem is elsewhere.
Throw a "ghetto compression check" on the motor jus to check if the cams are truly timed right. Remove all 4 spark pluigs, place your thumb over each of the holes in succession and have someone crank the motor. GOOD compression means your thumb will not stay on the hole. That will tell you if the valves are closing properly to build compression.
Chances are the igniter isnt bad if the engine ran, you replaced the head and now it wont run. Chances are its something YOU did(no offense intended, just more logical).
Check for sealed cylinders, actual spark and also for fuel IN the cylinder instead of just in the fuel rail. You need 4 things in the proper mixture to get the engine to run, fuel, spark, air, and compression....without one you will have an expensive paperweight. is it possible you forgot to plug in the IAC? or some other sensor?

ok, well the commander does show all the sensor inputs. for some reason the oxygen senosor is showing no volts at all while the key is in the on position. is it supposed to be at 0 volts or should there be some voltage?
