I recantly did an engine swap for and 93 KA24 to a 96 KA24. The swap went fine but now I am having alot of heat and I meant alot of heat coming from my gear box. Whats worse i went to open up the ashtray to figure what the heat was and I saw smoke. The coolant level are right and all the cooling part are working the gauge is working as well. I checked the tranny to see if that was leaking or if it was hot but that was a not. One of my friends said the katalic converter might be blocked but I can't see how that would cause the kind of heat. I've been going crazy trying to figure this thing out, including losing sleep cause of this. Someone please help.

 

the cat could be causeing it but when a cat gets clogged or goes bad it usually smells like rotton eggs from what i understand. start the car and plug the end of the exhaust with your hand and see if it pushes your hand off.

 

you sure you get enough/or to much tranny fluid?
