I didn't know that the Silvia came with a cooler thingie to keep drinks cold. This was in the info section. That is a great and useful feature that I could use... for about 5 months, then there should be a mini microwave for the cold winters. Oh, and a toilet... naw, maybe not.

r32's can already be legally imported and insured... thats why motorex crashed a whole crapload of skylines, so they could do that, now there are tons of companies importing them for much cheaper... 18-25k ... if i only had the money

Actually, MotoRex didn't crash test anything, didn't mod anything, didn't petition anything. They paid another company to do all of the work for them and then signed a "secresy" agreement with them to be the only ones registered to import Skylines.
There are other companies that claim they bring Skylines over that are completely legal...I am researching these companies right now becuase according to all of the information available by the DOT, NHTSA, EPA, and the company that originally imported the Skylines, there is NO WAY anyone else can bring these over and legalize them...

lol Night ... i can drive 20 minutes down the street, and look at an R32 that has been imported, and driving the streets of Dallas for months now legally... do you just follow everyone around trying to prove them wrong or something? i mean im sure you do contribute some good information once and a while but all i ever see is you trying to outsmart people... it really makes you look bad in my opinion...

R32's are legal as of next year to import into Canada (89 models) due to them being 15 years old. MotoRex can legalize that car and it can be driving around legalized no problem.
I'm not trying to prove everyone wrong. I have been researching becoming a RI (Registered Importer) for quite some time now. I've been reading every piece of information that I can find, talking with the head people at the DOT, EPA, and NHTSA. Talking with the company that originally imported the Skylines for MotoRex etc... because I WANT TO IMPORT SKYLINES legally. I have a vested interest in this information because I am trying to get the petitions and everything else to get these cars. According to all of those agencies, THE ONLY company is MotoRex right now who is registered to import the Skyline.....prove me wrong here, do some research, contact people, find out this information.....I'm just telling what I've learned.
And MotoRex didn't wreck the cars....do a little bit of searching and you will find that out. The MGA Research Corporation crash tested the Skylines with the results and petitions being filed by a man named Jonathan Weisheit...just look it up.

thats cool that your doing all that research, but that still doesn't explain how a r32 20 minutes from my house has been legalized and insured and drives around all the time ... and it wasn't through motorex... but hey who really cares i can't afford a skyline anyway? lol

You're right, it doesn't explain how it was legalized, but I can guess three ways:
1) Someone wrote up a green slip for it
2) Someone swapped VIN's on it
3) Someone registered it as a kit or collectors car.
Now, it has me baffled that these companies are saying that they can legalize these cars and yet all of the other companies and government organizations are saying there is no way....that's why I am extending my research to figure it out, because if they are getting away with it, I wouldn't mind doing so as well. One thing to look at: If the car is truly legalized and they sell it on ebay, it will have a US VIN # posted in the ad instead of something like 0000000000000 or 111111111111111 etc....

It has something called a "Substitution US Vin" or something i remember looking in the window at it... but they definitly didn't go through motorex, and they definitly have it legalized, because they import skylines themselves... but as far as i was told there are things you have to do after you get it from them that cost like 2-3k which is for like bumper reinforcement, and other safetey related things... now he could be bull****ing but there is a legal r32 sitting at his shop... so im assuming he's not.
