unstable hybrids sells motor mounts for the rb serie engines and all. go to www.unstable-hybrids.com theyre like 400-500 bucks. They also have a intake mani for the RB. It's inlet goes parallel to the block like the SR so you can use less plumbing on an FMIC.

Yeah, that is one of those crucial steps to having a motor swap. If I used those custom mounts, would I still need to get electric fans for clearance of the rb25? I'm thinking the RB25 is better to go with. More torque, more hp..more weight, but battery relocation should help offset the weight.

I think u need Dual electric fans man, so it wont overheat. Also u can use the stock radiator and just put dual electrics with is then it should be all good. You can always use the RB engine mounts..but supposedly they make it sit a lil higher and a lil farther from the firewall..i will see if its true If u got the money then go ahead for the RB25, the RB25 has more aftermarket parts then the RB20 cus the RB20 never got popular..and probably never will. It still Revs higher though I NEED A FREAKING CAR!!!

dude, if i knew you needed a 240 so bad, i wouldve sold you my old one months ago. Its was a 90' fastback. Red. Only thing was that it was auto, but the body was is awsome condition. I've been lucky with 240's. My current one has 145k on the clock with the factory rubber wing, and it lives in a rainy/snow/humid state. Not a bit of rust under the wing. Im thinkin about goin wingless. Either that or wangan (sp). I might sell my exhaust one of these days. HKS Hiper 85mm catback. Its a little scratched up, but the canister is perfect. I want a Ti exhaust.
I'm gonna use the custom mounts, otherwise you have to cut up some of the hood and the weight dist. sucks. Lol.

u only got to cut off a lil of the hood if u have the stock intake mani. which im not ganna have cus im ganna get a aftermarket intake mani. Im ganna see how it is with the stock mounts..if it seems awkward then ima get the custom mounts. And i really want a Car thts local so i can just go pick it up my self

Hey there, I have a little I'd like to throw in. From what I understand, in Japan they rate horsepower and torque at the wheels. I have an RB25DET in my "89 240SX and I am told that with the Blitz 3" exhast and the Blitz LM series air filter the 250HP should go to over 300, but I am waiting on the dyno to tell for sure(plus a new head as the origional one died). I have much more love for the 2.5 because "There's no replacement for displacement." Higher compression ratio 9:1 means that there is more low end torque, plus the Blitz drift R34 puts out 455HP with an RB25DET and stock internals. That is more than enough for me. I used the stock radiator and the KA and Skyline fans so I didnt have to buy more...I am cheap. I think the mounts from Mckinney will let you use the stock intercooler and the hood can stay intact.

HMm i would think that Japanese do the HP by the wheel HP. Because when people do a dyno run on stock..they usually come with around the HP that it says it should have stock. I dunno...all i know is a i want a 240

No, they're supposedly reading from the crank. On some of their sports cars though like the skyline, supra, wrx 22b, and such they'll under rate the cars power.

I understand why they do it for the higher end cars with like 320 hp so they can stay in the 280 hp agreement.... I guess if the RB25DET was truthfully rated at 280 hp people would be suspicious cause that's what the GTR is supposed to have.

but the GTR im sure has more then 280, they say 280 just so they can put it on the market when i belive it has more then that.

They deffinately under-rate the high end sports cars. Espescially in the case of the GTR. I know that AWD helps make it as fast as it is but there is no way a 280hp car that weighs a lil over 3600lbs can get to 60 in just over 5 seconds. I have read several places that have tested the gtr and they say realistically it has closer to 320hp.
