maf wiring??

just bought a s13 with an s14 sr in it and was told due to the wrong maf the idle was screwed up. I went to go change the maf today to a s14 maf and i realized their are four wires from the harness(red, green, black, and black with white stripe) and on the maf there is only red black and white. Which wire goes to which?

Also, the symptoms are the car is dying after like 2000k and idling very rough. Can this be anything else??

Sorry that didnt help, it is running like crap. Is there anyway to test the wires going to the maf from the harness. Ex, One is power, ground, etc...

Can it possibly be bad gas, I dont know whats the problem.

The car hesitates at idle and seems as its misfiring. I checked the plugs and coils!!!

If you have the wrong MAF, that could definitely cause problems like this.

Check out the FAQ section. There is a detailed 240SX maintenance manual.

just put in the new maf, wired to what it looked to be correct and it ran, revved fine. Drove it and it runs perfect till its about to hit boost then boom it seems as if it shuts off and then starts back up.

Can this by spark blow out, they are new plugs but black already and i did not gap them.

THEN I LEFT THE CAR AND CAME BACK AND NOW IT DOESNT EVEN START MAYBE I FLOODED IT WITH GAS???

I'll check the plugs tommorrow.

any suggestions??

Woah, wait...you have a turbo on your engine? I can see why you're having problems if you have a stock or incorrect MAF.

he said he had an S14 Sr, as for the maf did u put in a maf from a ka24de s14 or the s14Sr maf?

also how much boost are u running? sounds like u may be hitting a fuel cut and if ur still running a stock fuel pump then u have a problem there as well.

it was spark blow out. but now a new problem, when i rev in nuetral the boost gauge goes past 5psi. Also, under wot the car builds boost pressure but does not pull hard.

I checked leaks anything else??

ok this is the update cars maf is fine but the current problem is boost gauge goes to 5-8psi in neutral when parked and revved

I did the following:

checked for leaks

routed vac lines to what i think is correct?

pressurized the wastegate to see if it opens and closes

tried another boost gauge

what can be the problem?

Is their a correct vacuum line diagram?

Also, where is the correct place to tap into for the boost gauge??

thanks for the help

ok put new plugs in and drove it. its making boost but it feels like its cutting like sputtering. will the stock fuel pump be the problem, its a stock s13 pump

any other possible culprits?????
