Exclamation Mods needed to fit s14 into s13 chassie

<s14 fits into US 240SX S13 chassis with no modifications. Uses the host chassis driveshaft and differential. Uses the standard downpipe and catalytic converter with the 240SX catback exhaust. 89-90 chassis will need power steering lines and reservoir from 91-94 chassis. Fits into US 240SX S14 chassis with no modifications>(srswap.com)

i know that many people from this forum strongly support the rb swap but i'm planing on dropping a s14 into my MY1990 240sx, i really need to know what materials are needed, i've done many searches and i just wanna hear from people that has done this swap.

thanx...

"dropping an S14"

do you mean SR20DET? Or are you seriously talking about a stock KA24DE from an S14 chassis into your S13?

If "da" means "the" in Virginian, I could help you out with explaining differences between engines and what you need to put an S14 engine into an S13. A drivetrain does not constitute (BIG WORD ALERT) an entire car.

So basically what you are telling me is that the engine will fit with no mods… but the drivetrain will not… so I must buy a custom drivetrain to take its place correct?...

i was also wondering what the over all difference between the s13 sr20det engine and s14 sr20det engine... besides the odviouse hp difference....

thanx alot

Puh-lease read what I type. Don't peruse, browse or skim. Read. The engine and transmission from an S14 shouldn't be called "an s14" because it's not the car, just the drivetrain. If you do searches (which is very questionable how much of it you do and how much of it you actually read) about swapping blacktops into S13s, you might realize that nobody really mentions anything about certain parts. That's because you don't have to worry about it.

As for engine differences, the S14 blacktop has a different intake manifold, turbo, and the addition of VVT. The difference in the motors is potential, rather than power difference stock.

Drivetrain - The combination of mechanisms connecting the engine to the driven wheels, typically the transmission, driveshaft, and differential in a rear wheel driven vehicle.

Now that that's all cleared up, it says right there in your first post:

"no modifications"

As far as I know and what I've seen the S13 and S14 share drivetrains. Underneath there are small differences, mainly in suspension.

Of course, it wouldn't make sense for you to pick up just the engine without the tranny attached to it, but some people go that route and it still works out fine.
