Mufflers No back pressure!!

I heard that if you have and engine within a 100-500hp range then you could have a to big of a muffler because it will let out to much backpressure? Is that correct if so how do you know if it is to big? Can you test or diagnose how much your losing?

thanks

Check with dyno, butt dyno, g-tech .....

Turbo cars don't need back pressure. Do a search on what is appropriate size of piping for your engine. Should have been discussed or argued about.

3" piping with an apexi N1 style muffler seem to be ran by most ppl with a turbo application, and yes you do need some kind back pressure of some sort if you dont youll loose almost everything at the low end.

I ran my KA with the 3" N1. I thought it ran good. I figured the cat was restrictive enough.

THE DOWN SIDE TO BACK PRESSURE IS LOWER TOP-END BETTER LOW END POWER.... WITH LITTLE TO NO BACK PRESSURE YOU'LL GET A BETTER TOPEND.
