Hi guys, I am new to this forum.
Anyway, I planning to get a S14 and do a S15 SR20DET swap, I just wondering what modification have to do?? How much would the swap labour cost and how much would be the engine???? Do u guys know anyway place to do a swap job in Alberta, Canada.
Also, I just wondering if the S15 tacho, speedo, temp, gas guage unit will fit on the S14???

you are gonna hear this over and over and over:

THE S15 SR20DET IS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY

for the extra money you spend, you could get and install a JUN stroker kit into an S13.
Get an S13/S14 sr, then do a turbo swap, big fmic, big fuel system, and you got yourself an engine that will spank an S15 all day long.

and dont believe what people tell you about the 6-speed the S15 comes with being weak--there have been many people who have taken S15's above 400 hp without a new turbo.

let me get this straight? you dont even have the car yet and your looking to do an engine swap?

obviously your not serious about REALLY fixing up your car...'cause if you were you would start out where 99 percent of aftermarket enthuthests (spelling) start...and thats upgrading your car's audio....next (and i'm going off statics here) people tend to get rims and other things that enhance apperance...bod kits n all fall into this cat....lastly people will upgrade engine

Damn then I must not be normal cause I've still got the stock 14in winter rims on and some 15's for summer. First thing I did was get a aftermarket headgasket and cams. The hell with big rims or the stereo. My car doesn't even have the stereo in it anymore. It was just dead weight that had to go.

First, upgrade your suspention. Get your car as low as you want it.

get a feel for your car, race it awile stock.

Second, do all your engine upgrades one at a time spending some driving time between each, your car will have a different feel each time. (swap, turbocharge, NOS, intake, ect.

Third, bodykit, wing, whatever then paint it, now you dont have any scratches on your new shiny paint.

ok guys, i bought my current prelude in 2001, and all my mod in my car are performance parts......
1st i got plugs, 2nd i got NGK wires, tanabe exhaust and header and tein coilover, HID, then i got a SPOILER, and finally got intake....
so what's the problem i got a engine swap in the first place????
The reason by i want a 240sx with SR swap over a prelude, caz i has more hp , fun and handling....
i am not look down to the 240sx and owners, but this is no point for me to degrade the hp of my car, that's why i decide to get a 240sx and have a S15 swap....

anyway
everybody has his/her own interest on modding his/her car, so don't care what other ppl's decision

PS, i am still using the stock honda cd player and love it.

LMAO @ bodykits and wings! Oh man that was a good one. Get the car, do the SR swap, get some 550's, Bigger turbo, FMIC kit, tuned ECU, intake, manifold, full exhaust, suspension (doesn't even have to be coilovers), brakes and never forget the LSD in the rear along with a GTR fuel pump. Why a GTR? Cause its the most common upgrade used in Japan. Get the blanking plate so you can mount some oil temp oil pressure and water temp gauges where the stereo should be. A well built car won't need all that stereo. You'll find yourself driving hard just to hear the sounds of the car.

Myc ar came with an upgraded stereo, however all the speakers were blown. So thats the only thing I've done to it. When i drive hard I turn off the stereo anyways. I love the sound of my engine screaming @6.5K. Curently I'm saving to buy? Well not sure yet. What to do? Build up an old KA in my spare time or go for an SR?

ignore leiferik1, he is being a dolt. dont bother upgrading stereo or looks first, thats called being a ricer, and it is also another form of evil. do performance first. then handling. then performance. then handling. THEN looks.
