New project

Well, its my first time posting here, just wanted to let everyone know what I've got and see what they think. Just bought a 93 240sx se coupe with 225,000 miles on the stock motor since I'm doing a swap here soon. The previous owner had just installed a stock Silvia LSD he said and KYB AGX 8 way adj. struts with Tein S Tech springs. He was mainly into drifting for fun. Anyways, I went to my local shop and had a quote written up for what I plan on doing. And just thought I would run it by you all and see what you think and possibly what kind of numbers you all think I might put down (1/4, rwhp).

S13 Sr20det Blacktop- Complete with Ignitor & MAF- $1,900
SR20 Wiring Service- $250
EZ Install Kit- $100
Battery Relocation Kit- $85
Tune Up Kit- Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, Plugs- $60
ACT XTSS Clutch & Pressure Plate- $525
ACT Light 11lb flywheel- $275
Tomei Valve Lasher Kit- $185
Radiator Hoses - Upper and Lower- $45
Blowoff Valve HKS SSQV- $215
Hotpipe w/ HKS SSBOV Flange- $140
Greddy V-SPL Front Mount Intercooler- $875
Installation sr20- $1,200
A'PEXi Turbo Timer- $99
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust- $570

Coming to a grand total of- $6,524

Hopefully soon after all of that I will be able to save up some more money for a GReddy PRofec B-spec boost controller, Boost gauge, and EGT gauge and some other goodies.

Anyways, just wondering what everything thinks of my setup I plan on going for and suggestions are welcome. And if anyone has some guesses on what kind of numbers I'll be putting down or 1/4 mile times, I'd be interested in hearing them. Thanks.

I'm pretty positive that it is an uncut harness, and I am located in Cincinnati, but I am currently at school in Bowling Green Ohio. Next time I am home, I am hoping to get the car into the shop. And it is going into a 93 240sx coupe.

not every one thinks like i do, but why dont you buy cheaper stuff to save money, and do more things to the sr. like most exhausts are a straight through design, buy a cheap ebay turbo muffler and heve the muffler shop weld on 3 in staright pipeing .will do the same thing but wont have hks on it. that will cost about 175 tops.

you can get an act clutch that will handle the power for alot less, like 350 on heavy throttle.

on my sr i just bought a nice big intercooler, and i am gonna have custop piping made, the core was 260, then the piping is gonna be about 200.

with the money you would save just by doing a few things different you would have enough for some nice cams installed.

i am doing about all the same stuff you are but mine is is gonna be under 4g's bc i am poor.

I actually was looking into doing ebay muffler thing and then getting an exhaust shop to do it. I think I will probably decide to do that. I'm going to see if I can find some other parts that will be cheaper elsewhere. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm getting it through a shop located about 20 minutes away from me home. It is a shop called Zerolift. They have a website, www.zerolift.com however it might still be temporarily down. If you would like to call them here is their number. 513 874 2508

And they say that their is approximately 30-35k on all the engines they get.

Just make sure the harness is uncut because that is why a lot of these SRs are cheaper. I should look on there site and see what they have.

I just looked on the site and for nissan engines the ignition chip, maf sensor and uncut harness are an extra $300. SO the price you save going through them, you end up spending on the things you get from other companies for free so it equals itself out.

Hmm, thanks for that info.

Anyone know by chance where I can get some of those parts that I listed above for cheaper prices. I've already decided to go with just a ebay muffler and get 3''piping (((is 3'' to big?tosmall?justright?))) made from an exhaust shop. Saving me about 350 bucks. I'm trying to find parts cheaper, but no luck so far. I'd love it if I could get the price down to about 5g even. Oh well any help you guys can give me I appreciate it. Thanks again.

Oh and Cutter, I noticed you said looking into a different clutch for cheaper that can handle just as much power. What specific clutch do you recommend?

You could always do the install yourself and save the 1200 You can get any muffler for less than the cost of HKS. Look into a Apex N1 muffler and have your shop weld on 3" piping (which is the size you want for a FI engine).
