A complete RB26 for $2,000 "buy it now?" What's wrong? Sounds like a scam...

I wouldn't trust it. The description says it's from a 25GT Turbo, but the part under it says the engines a RB26DETT. And from the pictures it's looks like a RB25DET.....

BTW wasn't the R34 released in '99? This says '98...

Yeah, that's what I thought

I have a few friends in the Chicago area, where this guy is supposedly located. I was going to see if someone could look at the product (this is one of those "to good to be true" deals). When I suggested to the buyer that I would have a friend come by and take a look, he hesitated, and then "oh, oh, I've got to go...I'll call you back." (click) I haven't heard from him since. (His phone number is 708.288.9418). He also didn't seem to helpful on the phone. Funny, when I'm about to drop $2,000 to someone with NO FEEDBACK, I would hope to have my hand held a little bit. Oh well, I think I'm gonna pass up on it. It just seems to good to be true.

Night (the guy that has posted here with pictures of his S13 with an RB25DET) and I will be working together in the impending buildup of my S14a, but I wanted to at least research this a little bit more...thanx for everyone's responses. I had called Night (Cameron) to check this out, but he wasn't available.

And yeah, I noticed the 25 verses 26 inconsistency myself.

Thanx one and all,

Scott

Look at the intake manifold

On second thought, look at the intake manifold...It's definately an RB25.

You wouldn't happen to be 'the' Scott Buwalda, would you?

I used to e pretty big int car audio a while back and remember your name. I live right near Custom Auto Radio in MA... they held the world SPL record for a while.

If you are, congrats on exposing the 240.

Yeah, that's me

Hey Justin:

Yeah, it's me, Scott Buwalda in the flesh and blood. Thanx for the props about my 240. I think I have the corner on the market as far as interior, OEM and aftermarket electronics, and audio modifications go anyway. I'm hoping now to get some good advice about the engine swap.

Here's my web site: http://www.concertcar.com

Here's a feature from earlier this year: http://autosoundsecurityweb.com/features/0205ass_tek/

...trying to decide if an RB26 is worth the additional dinero...

I'm glad to 'meet' you.

The RB26DETT is likely not worth the extra money. If you buy the RB26DETT, you'll still need the RWD tranny from an RB25 to use it in the 240 - which usually means buying both engines.

There is a shop in Atlanta that has done RB swaps

www.unstable-hybrids.com

I would highly recommend buying this motor from a shop who cares about their reputation, like unstable or www.heavythrottle.com . You may pay slightly more but save a bunch of hassles down the road.

I don't know how much free advice they will offer, but from the reviews I head of the RB20 S13, I can only imagine you will be overjoyed with the RB25 or 26.

I was checking out your website, I like the engine bay. We're in slightly related businesses. I work for Whale, and we supply a large number of groundwater testing / purging pumps to the industry.

Scott,

This is going to be a fun ride. Didn't notice that this was the forum you found me on. I haven't been on here in over a month. Everyone be prepared for THE "SCOTT BAWALDA" to come out with a great new addition to his car.

definetly not a RB26

I know a 100% that is not a RB26DETT, frist of all look at the exterior of the car, the RB26DETT came with the beautiful 18inch slender GTR wheels, the GTR is the only skyline model series to come with GODZILLA. Also, the inside would have the GPS navigation and electronic read outs fo the engine vitals. If any of you thought form those pictures it was an RB26DETT, id be sadened to no end. Look liek the RB25DET personaly liek oen of the other members stated, and for 2000 for a RB26, thats impossible unless the guy is a mentalcap. my 2cents, lata

night...I love the swap. If I had the cash I would do the same. But with my budget, Im going to build up a KAE and turbo it. won't have the same possibilities as a RB, but it wills till be fun.

For $2250 shipped I'll hook you up with the RB20DET clip. With that you are probably going to spend less overall than when turbo'in your KA. If you are like me, you'd go all out on it. Anyways, if you want it, let me know.
