Question Planning S13 Red-Top SR20 Build(300+hp)

I plan on purchasing an s13 240sx (USDM) and doing a red-top sr20det swap. I've finally decided on a goal for the car after doing a bit of research. I am still undecided on the best (or perhaps cheapest?) way to go about reaching my goal.

Basically I want to get 300+ whp out of the car. I realize that this will require a new turbo, FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, some sort of engine management, boost controller, z32 MAF, and all the intake/intercooler piping and whatnot... (is there anything I'm forgetting or missing?)

So basically I guess I'm wondering what the cheapest way is to get there. I was thinking about getting a GT28RS ("potato turbo") and going from there with a completely custom fabricated setup... Or would it be cheaper to go with a pre-fabricated kit for what I consider a fairly modest build-up?

Basically my goal is a strong setup, but it doesn't need to be overkill for future building or anything because I just plan on maybe some bolt-ons in the future (after the initial setup) such as cams, etc...

Thanks in advance...

EDIT: Oh yeah, also, how about the transmission...what kind of clutch and/or flywheel will I need for the increased power?

This has been answered many times. Do your homework dude and search. P.S. cheapest is far from best. Everything always costs more than you think it will. How much money you got?

Yes the "Disco Potato" is a good turbo from what I have heard. Go with one of those, and a aftermarket tubular manifold, they are worth every penny. Loose the ribbed rubber intake tube for a larger aluminum unit and air cleaned, Z32 Mafs, 3" downpipe and exhaust, and I'd recommend Injectors in the 500-550 range and have JWT retune the ECU for them. Finally a FMIC and charge piping. Basically it's all money and just the concept, get more cool air in and give it more fuel under more boost.

Dont forget the bigger front mount intercooler. For all the things just listed it will run you about $5000 for new parts. All the things rkcarguy just listed can be read in detail at http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...cc_projsilvia/
