Preparing for the VG

Some of you may know that my KA finally blew up. That thing lasted a while lol... Well, Im doing lots of research preparing for the VG30DE swap I am considering. I found a place that might get me what I need here.
My car is currently an auto therefore I will do a five speed swap at the same time. I did a quick search and found a sticky with this list...

5 speed ecu S14's(optional on S13's)
5 speed trans

5 speed trans crossmember
5 speed driveshaft
manual flywheel with bolts
manual engine backing plate
manual trans to engine bolts
clutch with clutch bolts

(including pilot bushing ,driven disc and pressure plate)
clutch pedal
brake pedal(optional)
clutch line upper
clutch line lower
clutch dampner(optional)
cluth master
clutch slave
lower shift boot with plate(mounts on your tunnel)
upper shift boot (recommend purchase new )

The ones in bold I will recieve with the engine or will be custom. Where can I get this without getting a headache? Im trying to avoid junkyard hunting

The engine mounts will be z31 or custom made by me...Ill probably get a new radiotor and fan. The driveshaft will be custom. And thats what I got so far...Wheewww sorry for the long post. Ok, SO can anyone think of anything else I need????? This is going to be FUN!

Like Chris Farley, Holy Snikies,
That list already looks like a headache, it's giving me one just looking at it. What does it mean by s14 stick shift ecu? Don't you mean z32 ECU?
Technically you will need the z31 mount's, z31 cross members, z31 drive shaft, z32 engine and transmission.
You can use your existing clutch and brake cylinders.

You will want to talk with Steven Pepka, he is the swapper of the VG30dett into the datsun 510, his work is some of the best, and he will tell you the minor modifications that will need to be done to the mounts and brackets.

The junkyard.... You're talking about a car that's been out of production since 1989 (Z31). I'd be surprised if you could locate these parts new.

For the clutch master and slave, just get them from your local parts store. You may be able to buy these through a dealer's parts department, but be prepared to pay more than double what you would for a rebuilt piece. The clutch hard lines are going to be easy enough to bend yourself. You may have to go to a foreign autopart store to get the lines with the proper flare fittings on the ends, since the major chains seem to onle carry them in threads used by domestics.

For the 240sx pedal assemblies, try www.car-part.com . It's still junk yard, but at least you don't have to find time to do the parts pulling yourself during business hours.

How is the fit of the DE in a 240SX?

The S13 / S14 have significantly larger strut towers than the 510 / S12 / Z31. The S13 uses a spring of a much larger diameter than those cars, and the strut rod is not centered in the spring mount, so it needs extra room to spin on that axis.

I'm not saying its not possible... I'm just curious. I've never seen a VG/VQ DOHC swap into an S13 or S14.

Nope. I hadn't seen those, but I have now!

Good luck with the project. Looks like there's more room than I thought between those towers.

Your buddy seems to be a good engineer too, he happen to run both exhaust manis to a single FAT *** turbo, the spool time and QMT must be wicked as shiat. Is that a T82? It's a pretty phat turbo.
If he used the 2 stock turbos and mani he wouldn't of had to relocate the clutch, and brake lines.....
But Oh well, it still a MOBSTER in my opinion.

yeah...its built for drag...he has a locker rear end so when her turns the tires skip...its badass...he ran a 11.44@126 and 11.30@129 both at 22psi on c14 race gas...the only thing done to it is the t61 single turbo...o and all on street tires
