If I am correct a Carb EO number means that the part is legal for street use.

Most aftermarket parts carry the terms:

"not legal for street use. For offroad and race use only."

You would be surprised at how many things are not street legal.

An EO is an executive order from california air resources board (CARB) saying that the turbo or wutever has been tested, and has been shown not to increase emissions beyond the legal limit. So if you go into a smog station for a visual it means you wont automatically fail.

Nice. But you can still fail if you have screwed with it after the fact on the computer monitor smog test right?

If you have a turbo and go for the smog test just turn all of your boost down and put on your stock exhaust or one with many catalyic converters

I love cheating

I'm in California. When I went to get my smog check, I had 2 hunnies in my palm when I shook the smog techs hand. He knew what was up.

It sucks, but then again, I like my engine

Sup fellas, I got bad news.... pretty soon all turbos and other after market parts will be banned (or not allowed for street use) by CA legislation board. Their reasoning behind this is because of "illegal street racing" and they're thinking, "If we ban the parts... we can eliminate illegal racing!... THATS IT!!!"

So, becareful in the near future... matter of fact, my friend's sil80 jus recently faid smog because of the visual. They said it has to look stock or else they wont smog it at all, and since I live in Nor Cal, I have to disguise my front intercooler, only do a 1 in drop (since it dun really look dropped), and make sure one of my friends has a NA KA24DE when I go smog

And rite now in Bay Area, the pigs out there will impound ur car for any and all mods... sux to live in CA when u wanna mod ur car.

Yeah, it's really rough to live in California with a modified car (unless it's show *****ed out, but wheres the fun in that? ).

The area I live in, they aren't cracking down too hard, but as you get closer to LA, it gets harder, and LA is about 100 miles from me.

You need luck, and you need hookups in California.

Crooked in Cali; the way to be.

Ya, Its getting almost as tuff in Frisco (if not worse) as it is in LA. Thats why I dun really like to drive my S14 down there (not to mention the fact that it might get jacked out there lol).

But ya, Sac is gettin almost as stringent as LA and Frisco, Modesto and the rest of central CA is in the beginning faze of comming down on us... we cant mod our cars, but if u got a rustang or camero or firebird, its perfectly fine with the pigs...

They would prolly tell u to take off the panels if they didnt come standard on the car... plus they need to get to certain parts of the motor to be able to run the smog test... now if u guys lived in Sac... that would be another story.... jus call me up!
