hey guys im new to the 240 scene.... i just bought a 92 hatchback with a couple little mods here and there... i was talking to a couple guys and i got intoa new motor some are argueing the sr20 det and some are for the r32....
im looking for something i can drive on the street almost everyday and take to the track a couple times a year..
id like to end up with a crazy fast car that has the sleeper image.
could i get the pros and cons on either engine or and advice you have for me.
also what kinda horsepower can i get outta those motors.

For R32 theres the rb20det or Rb26dett. Rb26dett is not even comparable in power. If you got a lot of money laying around go with the rb26. 1000hp potential!

 

The RB20 will be the most bang for the buck. Around $1800 for a front clip gets you 220HP with alot more potential. You'll be looking at $2500+ for a Redtop S13 and from $3500+ for a RB25/RB26 swap. Depends on the cash your looking to spend. For a daily driver the RB20 or SR20 would be the best choice, go 10PSI, front mount intercooler, and LSD and you'll be a quick as your street tires can handle and then some.

 

yes it was teh rb26 i was looking at guy says 3000 for the whole clip shipped!

how much more work is it then a rb20 to swap in?????
i REALLY like the 1000 hp
id like to get something crazy there is a supra drivin around here with 693 to the wheels and i wanna be able to keep up with him!!!
or can i get that from the rb20??

ooohhh noo. The rb26dett is very difficult to have installed but it has been done. Its also an AWD (too bad it wont work on your car) Search on zilvia.net as they have a lot more info on the swap.
