rb
what do you need to know? I have 7 cars at the shop, all of them either have an RB or they are here because they are getting one. all you need to know is a stock RB walks all over a stock KA, or SR. I know thats gonna start an arguement, but the only people that will try fighting about it are the ones that are stupid, ignorant or just have no clue what they are talking about. I put these different motors in EVERYDAY! I know how fast they are.
if you have any more questions PM or email me.

^ Damn. E-net roid rage.
RB's are fast, yes. I have one to. They can walk KA's. But SR's are a different story in my opinion. The SR Redtop only has 5 less horse power. And has more torque and a better torque curve. Plus its a smaller turbo and the excelleration is better. But I aint doggin the RB. I love my motor. There aint nothing that sounds like a inline 6 in a 240..

your still bench-racing buddy. I dont care what the numbers say, you have to look deeper than that. The RB has a much more usable Hp and Trq curve. The proof is in the pudding, I put SRs in everyday, and I put RBs in everyday. If you ask which one is faster, without a doubt its the RB. I think I just posted this, but the other day we put in an SR, full exhaust from the manifold to the tailpipe 3", huge FMIC with custom piping, and it was boosting a few pounds higher than stock. That Vs. my BONE STOCK RB car (all except for the HKS air filter) that has stock exhaust, stock downpipe, and even a catalitic converter.
I beat that cars A$$ without slamming gears, chirping the tires, or anything. I just walked away from it. I drove the SR also, since I biult it. deff a fast car, and alot of fun. nothing zings to the redline like a free revving 4popper, but unless you have driven the 2 please dont bench race me unless you know your facts, and you have driven both cars, and had them race eachother.

A RB20 and SR20 i think would be close but a Rb25 would destroy a stock SR20 now remeamber kittys there is no replacment for displament none no matter what u have been told. Plus rb's are just godly engines (besides the RB20 i dont really consider it a RB)
I think everyone has a mental block on this whole thing. an RB20 is just as much an RB as a 26DETT. It is a nasty little motor, and takes abuse like no other. Not considering a RB20 to belong with the others, is just a comment made out of ignorance, and its obvious you dont have any real experience with these motors.
And yes an RB25 will destroy an SR, even if the SR is running a few more pounds of boost, and has more upgrades.

lol hahaha, man I hate how all 240 forumes argue this! LOL
OK SR20's a great engines and so are RBs.
I myself have a RB25det witha GT35r turbo
SR20s are quick responive engines great for drift and autocross
RBs are great for overall track, but of course they do great in drift and autocross too.
Desiding what engine is for you is more on your budget. SR20s are great for someone whos wants it to drop in and go with little expense. They are fun! its like driving a shifter kart when u have it in a s13 (thats a good thing for u ppl that havent driven one)
RBs take alot of work to do RIGHT. I see alot of S-H-1TTy rb20 swaps that run like crap in beat up s13s. If you do it, take ur time, spend them money, and you WILL be amazed. We put mine in over the course of a whole summer. Also, replace the coil packs with Spitfires, I consider it a must. the power potental is like no other, its amazing, hell the rb25 we got to push 19lb on the stock turbo and we were STILL taking fuel away lol (now we got a bigger turbo hehehe)
SO lets review, lol. SR20s are Amazing for build fast zipp shifterkart like cars, which is perfect for drift and autocross
RBs are for building frankenstien cars to destroy the track lol but takes money and time to do RIGHT. I love both engines, I just chose the one that was for what I wanted to do.
Oh and for god's sake, unless you are pretty good with wiring, please have a shop or someone who is good wire up ur RB, lol we see alot of RB20 S13 come in cause they tried to wired it themselfs and just made a mess of a fix job for the shop to fix, lol
If anybody whats more info on the RB hit me up!
Peace
Chad

Oh and yes you can make a monster out of the SR20 too (cause I know someone would have butt in and tell me that their SR make 5000hp lol) you and even get 400 at the wheels out of them. BUt thats with alot of money invested into it, and I mean alot. For the same price you could have an RB put in and get it to that level with out getting into the interals and thats not even maxing out an RB25. RB25 stock bottom end and top end are good for about 500-550, where you would HAVE the SR20 total maxed at 400-450 (this is where somebody says that theirs is 475, lol). This is not a bash on the SR, just saying ofcourse youll have more power potental with a inline 6 2.5 lol
My feeling is boost your SR to 300hp and then just worry about suspension, 300 is PLENTY to have fun in, u can go hunt STI all day long
