RB20 in a s13, good? bad?

Wondering if the RB20 is worth it. may get a 240 with one in it and want to make sure that im not getting something that will only cause more problems then its worth. the car will still need a throwout bearing, down pipe, and a right maf. along with what sounds like some body repair. the kid is asking 2500 for it. also has a good amount of extras:

FMIC
Stage 3 6-Puck clutch
2.5" Cat-back exhaust
2.5" Straight Pipe
Aluminum Radiator
255lph Walbro Fuel Pump-not installed
Dual 10" Flex-a-Lite Electric Fans
Custom Mounts
Bumper from 91-94 240sx
Brand New OEM Water Pump-not installed
AutoMeter Guages: Air/Fuel...Oil Pressure...Boost-not installed
Cluster from a KA24DE, but its needs to be installed
Inner and Outter Tie Rods with the boots for the inner tie rods-not installed
Voltage Stabilizer-not installed
Ebay Turbo Timer, not installed
New Oem Brakes all the way around with SS braided lines

just looking for some advise to make sure its a worthy investment

RB20's dont have OEM part replacements from other model nissans like the SR and CA18 right? So, I think if anything went wrong you'd have to find a way to get the piece from japan.

But even if that's not the case.

Don't buy someone elses' project. You're putting yourself out there for waaaaay more problems than it's worth. That's my $.02

i agree and its hard to find rb20 parts if it was rb25/26 it wouldnt be as easy as an sr but still alot easier to find parts then the rb20 imo RB25> rb20

Problems with the car.

throwout bearing is stuck,
maf is not installed on the engine, have that and a S-afc
The engine runs, but because the maf isn't hooked up, it doesn't rev

still not sure about it. is it really worth $2500?? i do really want one but how much am i really looking at? are these Major problems or relatively easy things to fix (im still learning, thats why im here and looking to get a 240. But i know that the RB isnt really for beginner DIY'ers)
ALL INFO HELPFULL

Thanks

well for $2500 is pretty cheap if its already installed in the car if the body is ok id go for it just buy a MAF and do the little things to get it running.

if the body of the car isnt ok dont bother

I don't know. Personally I wouldnt buy any vehicle that isnt running. on the other hand, if you have a daily driver and you've got the money for a project like this, then go for it.

throw out bearing is the same as the 300zx, i can't remember the year off the top of my head. But some little research u can find it. as for the maf I got one for the 20 sitting in my garage i'd sell. There are a lot of parts that are interchange able. And with most of the other parts that aren't companies that sell the motors will have them or can get them for u very easy.

BAM!

All RB interchangeable parts can be found here:
http://forums.********.com/zerothread?id=34102

Belts:

and here's some swap info for a RB20 in a S13:
http://forums.********.com/zerothread?id=92829

^^ oh come on? u blocked that word? well where there's the **'s type N I C O club except all together. Cause I'm not going to search thru that whole thing to give u a answer.

2500k is pretty good. If he went thru a company to install it, he's probably sitting around 3K + the car.

Yeah dude, tell him to hook up the mafs and stuff. He might be trying to hide some other problem.

working on the pictures. haha

needs a good amount of body work... looks like the windshield is cracked, PAINT, refitting of some parts or just total replacement(most likely what will happen)
Thanks for everyones info. im going to ask him what he wants for it if he gets it running. he was talking about 2500 cash, but now in emails hes talking about 3k so im going to go with the direction that if he gets it running ill give him 3k. good? bad?

you need to put a vacume line from the vent on the top of the valvecover to the intake pipe before you run it, also i would get another ecu temp sensor and make sure its pluged in because that will casue it to run like *** the ecu temp sensor is the broken yellow sensor on the coolent houseing, i believe you can use one from a older 300zx, rb20 parts are not super hard to find you just have to know where to get them in the US and also have to be able to cross reference part numbers. also check the timing, get a maf, do all this before you by it to make sure it runs good. change the timing belt, water pump also, just to be safe.
