Rb20det Swap Into S13?????

I have a few ?`s about the swap into an s13. OK first off I am really confused, will the stock driveshaft fit with the r32 crossmember. Will the rb20det downpipe bolt right up to the stock exhaust?? What is required when wireing the engine up to the car?? How much off the stock sway bar do you have to shave. If anyone that see`s this has done this swap has AIM/AOL my sn is yarightthatscrap Also how much does it cost worth of parts after the you buy the clip to get the car drving.

I can answer a few of your q's. Yes, the stock KA driveshaft bolts to the RB20 tranny, just have to knock off dust boot on tranny. You would probably have to get an aftermarket exhaust. Talk to night. He knows all about the RB. My estimate for the RB20 with the prices I was given: clip-$2250 shipping-$450 exhaust-$500. I guess roughly $3200-$3500 to get it in and running

To get it up and running, it can cost you anywhere from 2k-3k+, matters on how much you wanna do at first. But its usually 2000-2500
You can search for the wiring question, there is actually a walkthrough
You will have to shave mm off the sway bar, nothing big. Just enough so that it doesnt rub the oil pan
I think thats it...

The RB was NOT made to be in a S13 or S14, although it is Nissan, you are treading on strange ground! I personally am not impressed with the RB20 or RB25 engines, and not willing to do the hot rodding to get one to fit in my engine bay... Go buy a small block chevy you might have an easier time...................

DUDE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS SUPPOSEDLY IN OKINAWA.... YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT NISSAN. NISSAN HAS A LITTLE THING CALLED CHASSIS SHARING, WHICH IN SIMPLE MINDED TERMS MEANS THEY USE A CHASSIS ON MULTIPLE PLATFORMS. THE R32, Z32, AND S13 SHARE THE SAME CHASSIS; THE R33 AND S14 SHARE THE SAME CHASSIS; AND THE S15 AND R34 SHARE THE SAME CHASSIS; AND THOSE THREE HAVE STAGERING SIMILARITIES. THE RB SERIES MOTORS ARE BASICALLY A BOLT-IN AFFAIR TO THE S CHASSIS. THE POWER OUTPUT AND POTENTIAL IS GREATER THAN THE SR.

TO ANSWER YOUR ORIGINAL QUESTIONS:
YES, THE STOCK DRIVESHAFT FITS WITH THE R32 CROSSMEMBER. SWAP THE DUST SHIELD FROM THE KA TRANNY ON TO THE RB TRANNY AND THERE SHOULD BE ABOUT AN INCH OF PLAY IN THE DRIVESHAFT.
YES, THE R32 DOWNPIPE BOLTS UP THE THE STOCK CAT/EXHAUST.
THE SWAY-BAR DOESN'T NEED TO BE SHAVED ALL THE TIME, SOME CARS ARE IN DIFFERENT CONDITIONS THAN OTHERS AND THEY SOME TIMES FIT AND SOME TIMES ARE ALITTLE TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT.

I PERSONALLY HAVE $3800 INVESTED IN THE CAR TO GET IT RUNNING AND DRIVEABLE (THIS INCLUDES THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR). I BOUGHT A 14" ELECTRIC FAN, FMIC/PIPING, FUEL PUMP, INTAKE FILTER, ALL THE BASIC TUNE-UP PARTS/FLUIDS, AND DID ALL THE WORK MYSELF.

WORRY ABOUT EVERYTHING! Down to the charcoal canister.

If you put more question marks in the subject, it must mean we answer faster! You should really do quite a bit more research before you ask all the questions you did. All of your questions have been answered in some form or another, and even in an FAQ.

Actually the RB25DE engine was originally going to be the engine released in the S14 240SX in America. There were a few of these vehicles made with the RB25DE engine, but not many...and it came stock. Small blocks will never be as reliable as a crafted engine such as Nissan that actually uses technology to run. You're not treading on strange ground....your treading on solid ground and a great platform to build.
