RB20DET swap-my feedback so far...

I finally got my replacement turbo in and had the car on the road for 2 days. Check out my other posts where I documented my swap. I was very impressed with how smooth the engine is, and the sweet low tone from the exhaust. The engine makes more torque than a SR, and has a smoother acceleration as it comes into boost. Mileage seems to be pretty good, I put on more than 50 miles and only moved the guage a bit, not almost a 1/4 tank like the old SOHC pig would gobble down. The engine does not like my BOV, as the OEM system vented the boost back into the intake pipe after the mafs, so it gets rich and tries to stall sometimes if you are in stop-n-go traffic. These engines are very stout, and JWT tells me that they have a ECU tune for the RB20 that will hold 520HP! I have a Silvia front and have moved my battery to the trunk, so I don't notice any difference in handling compared to the twin cam I pulled out. The FMIC really works good, my charge pipe get's pretty hot on one side, and is cold on the other side-these are worth every penny I'd never run a side mount after this. Overall I think that for what I was after-a good daily driver with alot of ***** and good fuel economy-I made the best choice

It wasn't that bad, just I didn't know what needed to be done there was no real on paper swap process just hearsay. Hopefully my post's have taken care of that for other people now. It's not pulling that strong up top, so I'm going to have to borrow a A/F ratio guage and see whats up with that. If it's still not enough fuel with the nismo pump I guess I'm going to need 2 pumps or something
