RB25DET into 300ZX
Has anyone ever heard of this being done before. A friend/customer of mine just bought a 90 Z32 NA and wants me to put a RB25DET in it. I have never heard of this being done, but I suggested it to him cause I think it would be a cool project, and maybe even a little bit of a challenge.
I just want fact here, if anyone has REAL data on this swap, not your opinions on the merit of this swap, please remember this is HIS car, not yours.
If we do this I will be more than happy to start a "pro/con RB25-Z32" thread for opinions later. That way everyone can duke it out and give their 2 cents.

I have seen ONE Z32 with an RB26 motor in it. HKS did the swap and the HEAVYILY modded the firewall for clearance. JUST NOT FEASIBLE for the average Joe with wallets smaller than HKS. Just get him a "JDM y0" VG30DETT and swap that baby in instead.

is the RB25 that much longer than a VG? it doesnt really look like it. I have had both of them out of cars and I just didnt notice the length to be that much of a difference.
I think that RB26 powered one was in a mag a year or 2 ago wasnt it? anybody remember which one?

I know that is 2X cylinders long, but have you ever had an RB20 and a VG30DETT on a pallet next to eachother? The VG is almost as long, and they are HUGE! It looks to me about the same size difference that you get when you take a KA out and put an RB in. also it may be 6cyl long instead of 3, but the VGs pistons are 50% bigger, therefore making the heads much bigger.
Now I am getting even more determined. If anyone wants this swap I might just set aside a week of my rear bay and do this swap for free for someone just so I can say "HA!, I did it, see"
I am sure the wiring would be fun since nobody has done it. I hate wiring diagrams,... damn small print!
