rb25det swap price quote fishy?

rb25det swap price quote fishy?

my cousin's friend says his shop will swap a rb25det n do the auto to manual swap in my 98 240 for $3,500, im amazed but then again its someone he grew up with so im dunno
the price jus seems too low n kinda fishy to me
any opinions?

Go for it. If its a reputable shop whose work is guaranteed how can you lose.

AS 89 said, check for a Warrenty/Guarantee. If the shop is reputable, go for it because that is a great price

there's a huge price difference in the 5sp and A/T models that sounds about right

MAke sure to have a written contract stating when the job gets done. You don't want to be carless for months. Also check to see how many rb25's or RB's he's done.

Is that price tag just for installation only or is that with the engine price?

If you can count on your cousins friend, then go for it. Sounds like a real good price. Just make sure he guarantees his work.
