RB26dett or Ka24et?

Hello there. I have a ka24e turbo kit installed on my 89 s13 coupe, but my turbo developed shaft play. My question to ya'll is should I keep the kit or remove it and just swap in a RB26dett with a rb25 tranny? I could afford the engine now but I want to work on the suspension. I have Kei Office coils now but I want to go a little bit more extensive. I need your help because I could always ebay the kit and just pick up a nice header and spend the rest of the money on suspension and just wait a year or so on the rb. Please help
thanks Eyeceman2000

I would go with a small block chevy. Cheaper & easier to put in than a RB26 PLUS the upkeep in the long run is MUCH cheaper.
Nothing like the sound of a V8 powered sport compact.

to the last poster. i work hard for my money, no one gave me ****! 55 hrs a week will do that to a person. oh but yeah you're partly right about my car, but i know more than 90 percent of the people on this forum about my cars. I always strive to know more about it and i always ask other peoples opinions, that's the best way to learn. moving from trucks to muscle cars to imports is a lot to take in, especially considering the electronics when all you've done is lifts and big blocks for your whole life. so please keep the flaming to a minimum when answering a simple question. m-kay

I don't know why anyone would really WANT to put an RB26DETT in an old 240SX. It is, indeed, a feasible swap, and would produce a definate head turner. BUT What do you really want to accomplish? It seems to me that it would be like poring a gallon of sweet tea into an 8 ounce glass. You have more power and ********* in your car than needed to accomplish a good running car. The car is so light that all you would do is melt tires and have no control. Why not tune up the KA or get an SR? That makes more sense to me.

My $0.02...

I have been thinking about the sr redtop lately to conserve weight in the front end. I could always tune it up to well over 300 whp but hell, it ain't an rb26. It will save me alot of cash but I got a while to decide since I'm still working of the suspension. Thanks for the input though.
