Reputable SoCal sr20det Installer

Hey guys what are the names of some reputable places I can go to get the sr20det s13 conversion on my 1991 240sx in Southern California. I want it done right but I dont want to pay 5 grand when I know I can get a front clip for less than 2k. I might even consider doing a garage install if they have a good reputation and will guarantee their work. I am open to provide my own front clip or buy it from them.

Help!

I did they want $1400 labor and $2900 for a black top s13 motor. Then there is the tax, disposal and whoops we forgot about this part so I would be up to 5 grand easy. I want to get it done for less than 4 out the door and I am willing to pay cash

phase2 owns you. I get all my stuff there; if Wayne doesn't have it, I don't buy it. I've seen some sketchy stuff come out of Cartune lately. Though, my very limited firsthand experience when I was there once was overall good.

Anyway, if you wanna do it yourself, get ahold of me. I might be coaxed/bribed to come down and help on my 3rd swap

I won't personally say that Cartune doesn't do good work, I've been around some of their work, and it seems ok (except a friend of a friends swap who doesn't have a heater. They said his heater core was cracked ). I've been around the block, I know a clean swap when I see one, and all of phase2's swaps have been ultimate quality. And I've never heard a single testament otherwise.

If you want to see an ugly engine swap, check out some of JDM Recyclers work. They were running a $2500 in and out special for SR swaps. I saw two of their swaps first hand and though they appeared to be running well, and were very complete, the engines just looked terrible. Coats and layers of lime all over the engine (and I don't mean just a little bit), and the valve covers were beat to hell and back.

Stuff like that doesn't sit well with me, maybe I'm just **** about swaps.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. I'm always impressed with the stuff they do.

Heh, you could always tow the car down or drive it down. Wouldn't be the first. I know of one phase2 car from up North, and one from Nevada.
