S13 questions

I'm planning to get a 240sx coupe (any year available) next april. I want to get a s13 front clip for it but I have a few problems. From what I read and other various bits of info, a front clip could be either the engine or the engine included with the whole front of the car. I want the engine with the whole front of the car but have trouble finding it. And I dont want the one with the flip out headlights, I'd rather get one like on the homepage of this site. Where can I find this? Does anyone know a reliable site where I can get one? I need all the necessary parts and components that make the car run included with the front clip. Thanks.

Don't count on getting re-usable panels from a clip. They're good at protecting the parts in shipment, but not much else. Hell most places won't even let you choose whether you get a Silvia or 180 anyway...

So what should I do then? When I get everything, should I get "brand new" panels?

By brand new panels, I had meant some other clean ones. On a website ( I forget which one), they are selling all the panels of a s13 front clip. You think that if I just buy the s13 panels, that they would fit? I don't think so. I know nothing about cars so I need all the help I can get. Thanks.

Yeah I already got my clip. It's a 180sx and yes panels were bashed. If you want an S13 front end you should just buy a set seperately from a shop or somethin for like $800.

So the s13 panels (the kind with the no flip up lights) would fit a 240 coupe with little modifications? And also they would not be fiberglass or something easily breakable if I bought from a shop?

No, they're used OEM parts for conversions. Never seen fiberglass for that. And yeah everything bolts on with no modifications, just make sure you get the headlight brackets too.

I bought from www.phase2motortrend.com and cost me $3100 shipped from cali to NY, which is a pretty decent price. Service is excellent too.

Yeah? I went looking through old threads because I did not want to post a repeat question and I noticed that you posted those sites. Where did you get your clip put in? PM me if you want.

im glad u went threw old posts to find wut ur lookin for. And the front conversion should cost u from 800-1200. Shop around for it and get the best price. But remember...Its usually the lower the price...lower quality

Yeah, I figured that the lower the price the lower the quality. But I know there are some places that just take advantage by charging a lot pretending that they are high quality, but when you get it, its stool.
