you can drop an SR into a gang of diffrent nissans.
but as far as 240's go take your pick.
there are more pain in the *** procedures for the 89-90 but it'll go in anyway.

you dont need to swap out the entire guage cluster. you can just change the tach and it works fine. i forgot the web site where they give instructions and pictures.

both are correct. the s13 motors are 205 and the s15 motors are 250.

so an s13 SR20det can be an easy install into a USspec S13 correct? I always here that an S13 will be a pain to do, but if you just use a S13 SR, it shouldn't be too difficult to have it fit.

remember the motor is standard(de/det) in japan. the motor will bolt in just like a KA. wiring and hoses are the olny real difficulties.
depending on year

so let me see if i understand...

- it is easier to do a sr20 swap into a non 89-90 s13
- s13 sr20 has 205HP
- s15 sr20 has 250HP

can a s15 sr20 go into a s13 240 just as easily?

Yup, only wiring the damn thing will be a biatch. I have a S14 in a 90 coupe. I heard wires had to be found in the dashboard somewhere and extended out to the engine compartment, etc.... I heard it was a bit of a nghtmare, since i wanted them to use the full S14 harness and ECU. But my car runs fine though, the tach is dead, so boro240 if you could send me that link, i would appreciate it. My speedo is reading all wrong, it maxes out at 36 MPH when I know i am going over 100MPH. So minor crap here and there

no. you need custom **** like motor mounts. it's not easy. not worth the extra cash, IMO. the s13 is capable of just as much and you can save money by going with it. that way you'll have an extra grand and a half or so to dump into the engine right away. most do not recommend the s15.

but it duz have a 6-speed, which would be tight.

boro240, thanks for the link, but do you know if it makes a difference if I have the digital speedometer with the heads up display? I wanna retain that since mine still works. Do you think it would be better if I just swapped in the JDM cluster with the HUD? At least that way i can get an accurate speed reading in Km/H.
Thanks

uhhhh.....S15's drop in. The only problems with them is that the speed sensor is mounted on the diff rather than the tranny, so you need the drivetrain for an install. Other than that you just have to deal with OBDII wiring, which a shop can do for you.

the only thing that should have a problem is the tach, so no need to swap the entire thing out. often times more problems can arise if you do. i saw one guy who messed up his fuel guage so it was extreme negative. also im sure it easyer to just do the tach than the whole cluster. (also tampering with your odometer is illegal, but i supose thats not too big a deal if youre already gonna use an illegal motor )
