s15 SR20det?

didnt know one even exhisted... anyone know anything specific about this motor? im wantin to get another 240 when i get back from iraq next year and this seems to be a good swap... but looks like it could be tricky to put in an s13.

http://www.jspecautosports.com/catal...px?prod_id=243

thats the engine, can anyone tell me what needs to be done special to the s13 to fit it? im contemplating just gettin an s14 tho...

it's the exact same as any of the other sr swaps.. the only thing different is a weaker 6 speed tranny and a much higher price tag

Just get the S14 SR and put the S15 turbo on it. Besides a little ECU tuning thats the biggest difference. Like Sir Pastry said, the 6 speed can suck it long and suck it hard. Then break.

the teeth in the 6 speed gearbox are thinner and they don't mesh together as well as the 5 speed.. and those therefor are the reasons that it is weaker

it can hold some power.. but give it too much with drag radials or just try to push 400+ and it won't hold

i didnt know there was an s15 model period. just kinda surprised me is what i meant. so how much cheaper is it to juet replace an s14 turbo with the s15? and what kinda engine tuning is involved to get the 250hp tag?

Out of the kindness of my heart, I did your research for you.

thats where you can get the turbo. Brand new. It's just under $800 before shipping. S14 SR20s average about $2,600. S15 SR20s come in around $4,500. That leaves you enough money to EASILY get another 100 hp out of the engine after you buy the turbo.
