I am about to put my RB20det in my '91 240 fb. Any way I want a short throw shifter and was wondering do I get it for the 91 240 or the RB20. I am totaly lost on this subject.

Any help would be appreciated.

Im not positive, but id think you'd get a short shifter for the RB. Afterall, its a transmission piece (more or less) and its an RB engine. PS: boo on universal parts. Lol. A good friend of mine told me this about cars
-Great Improvements
-Great Reliabilty/Fitment
-Inexpensive
...pick two.

I am thinking get the shifter for the RB. But my brother said that it would probably be for the car because the shifter might bend differently to get to the trans. Any way they are probably the same anyway since the two cars are not that different. They are both Nissans.

the car shouldnt matter, just the type of transmission, considering that the shifter goes straight down into the tranny. thy the B&M one, ive always heard good things about that company. there a little pricey though.

I have a B&M in my 240 and it feels great. It was $248 Worth it though.

I didn't think B&M made shifters for the Skyline, so I went to there site to look... Well I found out I'm wrong. They make shifters for the R31-R33......... but only the ones with SR20's!

Edit: Here's the link

Edit #2: If you want a quality shifter buy a Nismo, or C's. They aren't much more then B&M.

So if I have an RB20det (trans and everything) in my '91 240 I should get the shifter for the RB. I think I will go with Nismo.

The shifter for my '89 240SX and the 96 R33 RB25DET trans are the same and interchangable so I don't think it really matters.

the KA and SR trannies are different so you won't be able to interchange them. Try to get a list on the compatability of the shifter to the tranny.
