I am fairly new to 240's. I normally drive a TT Z32 but it will be down for the next couple years and I want just a reliable DD. Eventually of course I'd want an SR in the 240. I searched but only found threads about swapping heads...I want to do the full engine swap. Anyway...
My plan: I am buying a 1991 SE 240sx Twin Cam 5spd that has significant body damage. My 1990 has the SOHC with an Auto tranny. It has a bhg, and the car has overheated so many times I just don't trust the motor. The 91 I'm getting for $500 so I'm happy with the deal... perfect dash and miscl other things will go on my 90. I will do the 5spd conversion, and engine swap sometime next week. I have lots of help so I'm not too worried.
My questions: Will there be any big obstacles I'll run into? And are there easy ways to do things that I should know beforehand? I'd like to know what you guys think of the twin cam vs sohc from firsthand experience. Keep in mind I'm more worried about reliability than power. IMO it's pointless to mod most of these NA motors with all the turbo swap options.
