Some swap questions..sr20.rb20..

Ok i've just got a few questions.. What are the pros and cons of swapping any rb skyline series engine in a 240? I'm assuming its heavier and it costs alot more that a sr20 but it produces much more horsepower and torque.. So wouldnt the car be top-end heavy? Which would damper handling? So would an rb swap be better for like drag racing.. and the sr20 swap be better for twisties?

Also are the rb20det, rb25det, rb26dett all compatible for swaps in 240's?

Whats the difference between a red top and a black top sr20det?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

for the rest of ur inquiries:

blacktop/redtop:
http://www.sr20detinfo.com/
http://www.srswap.com/

rb26dett:
- yes w/rb25 (rwd only) tranny (unless u wanna go for the first awd 240)
- yes w/single turbo, RHD conversion, or some kinda custom fabbed steering rack (apparently there are clearance issues w/twin turbos and the LHD position of the usdm steering rack

again, nothing that i've just put up here has not been posted a time or two before. although, i have to say that maybe the search function needs some tweaking. sometimes i can't find threads i know exist... hope that helps...

Actually Mckinney motorsports has successfully completed a RB26DETT WITH twin turbos retained ina LHD car. If you had searched, you would know that...LOL
Anyway..it depends which RB series you are comparing. The RB and SR20 are so close in performance, it comes down to other things. The RB20 makes 215HP and 185TQ. The SR20 makes 250 on both I believe. So what you lose in HP you make up in TQ. Besides there are ways to remoe weight from the front to make up for the heavier engine. LIke i dont think the RB THAt much heavier than the KA. Remove the A/C and maybe move the battery to the back.
